| Blackberry and Apple Crumble |

Ingredients: - 75g butter
- 125g plain flour
- 150g light soft brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 450g cooking apples, peeled, cored and quartered
- 450g fresh or frozen blackberries, defrosted
- 3 tablespoons apple juice or water
- 150g sugar
- A little Demerara sugar
Method:
Have ready a 1.1 litre pie dish. Pre-heat the oven to 200°C or gas mark 6. - Rub the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs then stir in the brown sugar and the ground cinnamon.
- Cut the apple quarters into thick slices and place in a saucepan, together with the blackberries and the apple juice or water.
- Heat gently for about 5-6 minutes to allow the apple to soften and the fruit juices to run.
- Remove from the heat and stir in the sugar. Spoon the fruit into the pie dish.
- Sprinkle the crumble mixture on top of the fruit, lightly pressing it down. Sprinkle with a little Demerara sugar.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until the crumble is golden and the fruit cooked.
